Reviews and Ratings
The hotel may be a bit tricky to navigate at first, and the rooms have a slight moldy smell and are quite small, making it hard to see where the supposed 5-star rating comes from. The bathroom fittings seem a bit off-kilter, giving more of a 2 or 3-star feel. However, the helpful service from James and other staff members like Shirley and Thy, along with Manager Pisith's attentiveness, make the stay enjoyable and possibly worth returning. The location, although convenient in the central Phnom Penh area and close to the exhibition hall, has some drawbacks that might lead to an early check-out. The dining experience at Naga 1 Grand Garden was good overall, with high-quality food and fresh products.
The hotel offers a king size bed with a very nice view facing the Mekong River, despite the inconvenience of only having access to a small back lift shared with various guests and staff. However, there were issues with the electricity supply to the room.
My stay at the hotel was a bit of a mixed experience. While the location was fantastic and made it easy to visit nearby attractions, the noisy rooms and cigarette smoke smell were quite disappointing. The service was good overall, with some helpful staff, yet there were hiccups like the language barrier affecting my order. The dining options were limited, but I found the vegetarian couscous delicious.
